I’d lean towards night owl, though probably quite a tame owl with a regular 10 p.m. bedtime.
One routine you swear by?
Walking my dog twice a day – it always feels as if I don’t have time to do it, but it’s the best part of the day and I often get lots of thinking done.
Can’t travel without…?
My noise-cancelling headphones.
Who or what has influenced you most in your career?
My time as a teenager in the National Youth Choirs of Great Britain. It was my first experience of a large, impressive music organisation, led by vibrant and passionate people.
Favourite city to perform in and why?
Seattle – I’m a bit in love with the landscapes of the Pacific Northwest.
Guilty pleasure/indulgence?
Cooking shows on TV – I just can’t get enough.
