Six in Sixty: Edwin Huizinga

Early bird or night owl?

Early bird, but a night owl on concert days!

One routine you swear by?

Coffee and a walk

Can’t travel without…?

Pour-over coffee, my violin and a way to stay in touch with my chosen family.

Who or what has influenced you most in your career?

My collaborators, my students and my friends. It’s important to surround yourself with people even more full of love than yourself.

Favourite city to perform in and why?

Toronto – the memories, the people, the food.

Guilty pleasure/indulgence?

Movies and a piece of toast with cheese and tomato, salt and pepper.

Edwin Huizinga is a violinist, specialising in both baroque and modern repertoire. He is a founding member of the baroque ensemble ACRONYM and Artistic Director of the Carmel Bach Festival Academy programme and the Sweetwater Music Festival.
