Icelandic pianist Víkingur Ólafsson has signed to HarrisonParrott for worldwide general management.
Ólafsson has received several prizes in his home country, including Musician of the Year three times at the Icelandic Music Awards.
He has worked with international conductors and artists such as Vladimir Ashkenazy, Ilan Volkov, Philip Glass, Martin Fröst and Pekka Kuusisto, and has performed with Norwegian Radio, Ulster, and Juilliard orchestras, and at various music festivals including Busoni, MITO SettembreMusica, Nordic Cool (Washington DC), Vinterfest and International Chamber Music Festival Stavanger.
Ólafsson has released three albums on his own record label Dirrindí, including two solo discs, and a CD/DVD release of Winterreise with bass Kristinn Sigmundsson which won the Album of the Year award at the Icelandic Music Awards 2012.
The pianist’s 2014-15 season includes a tour of Canada and concerts with Iceland Symphony Orchestra, Turku Philharmonic, Dalarna Sinfonietta and Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra.
