Canadian Focus for October

Welcome to the October issue of International Arts Manager.

This month, we look at how the performing arts continue to navigate the global landscape – from trade policies and international collaboration to the quiet revolutions that begin in the rehearsal room.

Our cover feature spotlights the Biennale CINARS 2026, as Montreal prepares once again to host one of the world’s most dynamic gatherings for the performing arts. Since 1984, CINARS has connected artists, programmers and presenters from across continents. Its 2026 edition promises to be the most ambitious yet, offering full-length performances in dance, theatre, music, circus, puppetry and interdisciplinary arts. With applications now open, the Biennale invites artists to “stage the future” and shape the conversations that will define the next decade of global performance.
