Rage against the machine

Israeli dance group Kamea will premiere Rage later this month in Tel Aviv. Headed up by artistic director Tamir Ginzh, Rage stars the company’s 16 international dancers and will be staged on 16 March at Suzanne Dellal Center, Tel Aviv, and then at Be’er-Sheva Center for the Arts on 29 March.

Speaking of the work, Ginz says he “exploits the dancers’ virtuosic physique to address the issue of violence in our societies. Rage navigates between the personal and the collective, the realities and the surreal and brings to the stage a work that is both contemporary and relevant.”

Adding that it is a “a daring work [with]… An Israeli vibe that makes your stomach explode when you see them [dance].”

Kamea is one of a number of Israeli contemporary dance groups finding fame on the international stage. In April 2020 it will embark on the German Tour for Matthaus Passion 2727, a ballet piece set to a 120-strong live orchestra.
