Pro Arte signs 2014 Grieg competition winner

Pro Arte International Management has signed Norwegian pianist Joachim Carr for general and world management.

The 26-year-old artist won the €30,000 first prize at this year’s 14th International Edvard Grieg Piano Competition, where he performed Schumann’s Piano Concerto with Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra. Carr also won the Audience Prize and the Bergen Philharmonic Musicians’ Prize, and has secured concert engagements and a recording.

Pro Arte director and senior Scandinavian artist manager Kjell Wernøe said: ‘I have known Carr and observed his  exceptional artistic and communicating  development since he was very young.’

Pro Arte  has also signed Carr’s partner, violinist Diana Tishchenko. The duo won the Concours International de Musique de Chambre de Lyon this year.
