Dutch label Pentatone has signed American tenor Michael Fabiano. The long-term deal will see him release several albums, beginning with a collection of Verdi and Donizetti arias in 2019.
Fabiano’s profile has been on the rise for some time. He was named by Gramophone as ‘one to watch’ back in 2011, and since then has appeared in productions by the Royal Opera House and Metropolitan Opera among others. In 2014 he won both the Beverly Sills Artist Award and the Richard Tucker Award, while in 2015 he won a Helpmann Award.

During 2018-19 he will make debuts at Lyric Opera of Chicago and Staatsoper Berlin. He will also make a role debut as Carlo VII in Verdi’s Giovanna D’Arco at Teatro Real.
