The Ontario Arts Council (OAC) welcomed two new members on their board of directors: Susan Lahey and Dani Peters.
Susan Lahey is currently president of Eastern Art Consultants Inc and she previously served as the department head for Asian arts at Ritchies Auctioneers & Appraisers. She is an accredited member of the International Society of Appraisers, an organisation that maintains the methodology and ethics of appraising.
Peters is the president of Magnet Strategy Group, a public affairs consulting practice as well as being co-founder of Cross-Border Health and co-chair of the Women in Politics Mentorship Program through the Canadian Jewish Political Affairs Committee.
Rita Davies, OAC chair, commented, “These two new members will bring a great deal of professional knowledge to their governance role on the Ontario Arts Council board. We have a hard working board that has at its heart the very best interests of Ontario’s arts community.”
OAC has a 12-member government appointed board of directors that is responsible for overseeing the grant awards process, including policies and decision-making. In the period 2018-19, OAC invested CAD61.1m (€40.6m) in 228 communities across Ontario through 2,252 grants.
