New classical music calendar app

ClassiCAL-Musiccalendar has been developed by the Berg-based digital entertainment company andante media, and will go on worldwide release following a successful trial in Switzerland, Germany and Austria.

The app, which is currently only available on iPhone, will send users a ‘piece of the day’ from its extensive classical music archive.

Users will also be informed of the anniversaries of the births and deaths of famous twentieth century composers.

andante media is one of the largest independent rights owners in the German-speaking area. The ClassiCal-Musiccalendar app will provide users with access to information on over 400 composers from 25 countries, and the archive will continuously be extended.

Diane Ziegler, owner and publishing director of andante media, said: ‘ClassiCal is kind of like those chocolate eggs for kids with a surprise toy in the middle – only it’s for lovers of classical music. The app offers a daily dose of excitement, entertainment and surprise.’

Each ‘piece of the day’ will be added to the user’s music library, which is integrated into the app.
