Cristina Uruc elected president of European Association of Artist Managers (AEAA), ushering in new era of collaboration

Cristina Uruc, Manager of Artexim—the Romanian agency behind the George Enescu International Festival and Competition—has been unanimously elected President of the European Association of Artist Managers (AEAA) for the 2025–28 term at the General Assembly in Istanbul. “After 31 years of Artexim’s membership in the European Association of Artist Managers, I am honoured to receive the trust of the General Assembly and the position of President of AEAA,” said Uruc. “I am committed to carry forward the meaningful work Réda Sidi Boumedine, Giovanna Losco and the former boards have done for the organisation by building stronger collaborations, encouraging new partnerships across Europe, and promoting greater inclusion and representation within our association.”

Uruc succeeds Réda Sidi Boumedine (RSB Artists), who led the AEAA for the past six years. During Boumedine’s tenure, the association expanded its international presence, increased participation in global networks and events (including IAMA, OMAI, Doka Art and Classical ME Timișoara), and underwent a rebrand, launching a new logo and website in 2024. “It has been my great privilege to serve as President of the AEAA for the past six years… I am proud of what we have achieved together and deeply grateful for the relationships we have forged along the way,” Boumedine remarked, expressing confidence in Uruc’s vision for the future.

Founded in 1947, the AEAA now includes members from 17 countries and represents over 4,000 artists. A cornerstone of its work is a shared Code of Practice with IAMA, which sets standards for professional ethics, transparency and mutual respect. In 2026, the AEAA’s annual General Assembly will take place in Bucharest for the first time, highlighting the association’s growing international reach.

Uruc brings extensive experience in artistic leadership, international collaboration and cultural production, having managed the George Enescu International Festival—one
of the world’s leading classical music events. Her career also includes key roles with the International New Music Week Festival, Il Giardino Armonico, and the Sibiu
State Philharmonic.

This month, Uruc will also be awarded the Order of the Star of Italy (Ordine della Stella d’Italia), rank of Knight, for her contribution to the promotion of Italian culture and music abroad.

Uruc will lead the association alongside Vice President Jonas Grunau (Grunau & Paulus Musikmanagement), Secretary General Laurent Delage (Delage Artists), and Treasurer Zdenka Kachlová (CEMA – Central European Music Agency), supported by board members Catherine von Mutius (Artists Management Company Ltd ) and
Aydin Dorsay (Borusan Sanat), and Executive Secretary
Ada Baillon.
