MTC launches new site

Melbourne Theatre Company (MTC) has launched a new website which provides information on hotels, restaurants and transport to ticket buyers.

It’s hoped that linking information in this way will encourage more visitors from other regions of Australia and abroad.

MTC‘s executive director, Virginia Lovett, said: ‘With Victoria Australia’s top cultural destination and Melbourne the most popular domestic holiday destination in the country, we want people to think MTC when planning their visit.’

The website also includes a section featuring other cultural attractions around Melbourne.

Lovett continued: ‘Melbourne is a great theatre city and, like preparing to visit New York and London, “What shows am I going to see?” ought to sit right alongside “Where am I going to stay?” and “Where do I start shopping?”

‘We’re onstage all year round, so, if you already come to a show once a year, it’s now even easier to come more often. And if you’ve never made a great theatrical escape, now’s the time to grab a friend, go through the five easy steps, and make a date with Melbourne.’

This year’s season includes Ibsen’s Ghosts, political satire The Speechmaker, Mamet’s Glengarry Glen Ross and the Australian premiere of Lucy Prebble’s The Effect.
