Music from Mahler, Shostakovich and Gershwin will be staged alongside swing, dance and video design next year as part of Aurora Orchestra’s 2014 season.
Under principal conductor Nicholas Collon, the London ensemble’s adventurous programme includes new work from composer Nico Muhly, a Prohibition-era speakeasy, plus a ‘come and sing’ day with choral composer John Rutter.

Despite the Aurora’s grand ambitions, the season brochure was launched with a very small creation. Produced by Levavo and Cadventure, the ‘3D mini-orchestra’ project saw all principal players scanned, scaled and made into models on a 3D printer – thought to be the most complex reproduction of figures ever attempted with this cutting-edge technology.
The 3D models are featured in Aurora’s new season brochure.
