The Menuhin Competition has signed a deal with Arte Concert to broadcast this year’s event. A leading competition for violinists, it runs from 12-22 April in Geneva.
Arte Concert will broadcast more than 50 hours of live performances online, featuring the competition’s 44 entrants. The stream will be available on the Menuhin Competition’s website, with further radio and television broadcasts from Radio Télévision Suisse.
“We are very happy to have Arte Concert as a partner for all competition rounds, masterclasses and concerts,” said artistic director Gordon Back. “Also the commitment of Radio Télévision Suisse highlights the high reputation of the competition.
“This coverage makes the Menuhin Competition more visible than ever before and it is fantastic to know that people and music lovers all around the world now could be part of this competition and follow the progress of our participants.”
Young musicians representing 17 nationalities will compete for a first prize of CHF15,000 (€12,700). The jury is chaired by Pamela Frank and includes Maxim Vengerov and Soyoung Yoon.
