LSO PLAY, the London Symphony Orchestra’s immersive online platform, has won a 2014 Lovie Award.
The platform triumphed in the Website: Best User Experience Category.
LSO PLAY uses high-definition concert footage, allowing users to control views of the performance from within different sections of the orchestra.
Developed in collaboration with London-based design studio Sennep and LSO Discovery, the orchestra’s education and community programme, users can look at up to four different views of the Orchestra at a time, including different instrumental sections, and a close up of the conductor from the players’ point of view.
The Lovie Awards are the only pan-European awards recognising online excellence. The 4th Annual Lovie Awards received nearly 1500 entries from over 30 European countries. Other 2014 winners included Vice and Framestore.
LSO St Luke’s (pictured), home of the orchestra’s education and community programme, will be the host venue for the awards ceremony on 11 November.
