Latest Keychange Inspiration Award given in Spain at BIME PRO

PRS Foundation’s international Keychange programme awarded its latest Inspiration Award at BIME PRO, the first European fair dedicated to the music and digital industries. The conference is specifically targeted at finding new ways of income generation via technology, video games, marketing and collaboration. Currently underway, the three-day conference is being held in Bilbao and ends later today.

Previous winners of the Keychange Inspiration Award include Popkollo! a Swedish music camp aimed at girls and gender non-conforming people; music and arts pioneer Jayne Casey; German musician and activist Bernadette La Hengst; Anne Erm, founder and director of Tallinn International Festival JazzKaar; and BRIT Award winning singer-songwriter Dua Lipa, for her influence on young women and for being the most nominated female artist in the history of the BRIT Awards.

The recipient of the Spanish Inspiration Award is Georgia Taglietti, director of the Barcelona branch of shesaid.so and communications and digital director, head of international media at Sónar music festival.

DJ and creative, Cora Novoa, who presented Taglietti with the award, said: “Geo is one of the most inspiring women I have ever met: [she is a]  hardworker, positive, eager to connect people and projects, creative, a culture and technology lover, but above all what fascinates me is her desire to create a new path for new generations through art and positive values.”

Added Georgia Taglietti: “Four years ago, my life was starting to shift into a new direction. I was introduced by a friend to the shesaid.so network. From that point on, my professional and personal life has been deeply enriched by new friends, colleagues and a new sense of purpose. I am profoundly honoured to be given this award, which in my heart also awards shesaid.so and its founder Andreea Magdalina. I also wish to thank all the women who have inspired me in this professional path. My wish is to keep mentoring and being mentored in order to sustain the growth and the presence of women in the music industry.”

Keychange is a pioneering international initiative to empower women to transform the future of the music industry, for example by encouraging festivals to achieve a 50:50 gender balance in its programming by 2022.

The scheme is led by PRS Foundation and supported by the Creative Europe programme of the European Union, in partnership with Musikcentrum Sweden, Reeperbahn Festival, Iceland Airwaves, BIME, Tallinn Music Week, Way Out West, Liverpool Sound City and Mutek and sponsored by Spotify, GEMA, STEF, Ableton, Trackd, Gorwelion Horizons, Auddly, OMDC, Roskilde, British Council, Songtrust and STIM.
