Konzertdirektion Schmid has signed young conductor Fawzi Haimor (pictured) for general management. He is currently assistant conductor with Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra. Born in Chicago, Lebanese-Filipino Haimor then lived in Saudi Arabia for 10 years, before relocating back to the US, where he completed his education. This season Haimor returns to Alabama Symphony Orchestra as a guest, where he previously held the post of assistant conductor.
HarrisonParrot has announced that it will take on the European representation of American mezzo-soprano Jamie Barton. A graduate of the Houston Grand Opera Studio, Barton was named this year’s BBC Cardiff Singer of the World. She made her UK debut at the Barbican with the London Schools Symphony Orchestra in Sea Pictures, and is set to make her debut with both the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra and the Cleveland Orchestra later this season.
Rayfield Allied have recently taken on the general management of orchestral and choral conductor David Hill. Hill is the chief conductor of the BBC Singers, associate guest conductor at the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra and music director of The Bach Choir. Other new signings at the company include cellists Philipp von Steinaecker and Natalie Clein for general management; Italian bass-baritone Simone Alberghini for representation in North and South America; and French-Canadian pianist Louis Lortie for representation in the UK, Ireland and Scandinavia.
