Superstar pianist Lang Lang is on the hunt for a new app to help people learn more about classical music.
Launched by the Lang Lang International Music Foundation, Telefónica and Wayra, the Lang Lang Challenge will award one app developer €30,000 to develop their proposal.
A judging panel will assess proposals based on the level of technological development, usability and social sharing capabilities. The scheme is aimed at helping users discover, share and learn to play classical music.

Apps must be developed in Spanish or English, and must be available on iOS, Android and Firefox. Proposals must also have a connection to Lang Lang through either design or functionality.
In a statement, the foundation said: ‘We also invite companies and individual developers with new Apps or proposals already available in the market which have a distinctive feature developed specifically for the pianist Lang Lang. It is an open and global competition that seeks to unify the diffusion of classical music through the various platforms offered by the new technologies.’
