Kronberg Academy calls for young artists

The Germany-based Kronberg Academy is inviting young musicians to take part in its unique musical ‘blind date’ series, marking 20 years since its Chamber Music Connects the World concept was launched.

Taking place from 1 to 11 May 2020, the academy is famed for its training schemes and for sponsoring highly-gifted young musicians. It’s a rare opportunity for players to meet their idols via intensive rehearsals and at concerts. Classical music stars on the lineup are Gidon Kremer, Christian Tetzlaff, Tabea Zimmermann, Steven Isserlis and Jörg Widmann.

“Chamber Music Connects the World is a wonderful project.” said Raimund Trenkler, founder and chairman of the board of the Kronberg Academy foundation, “because it promises the outstanding young violinists, violists and cellists seminal experiences and encounters at the highest musical level.

“The opportunity to rehearse and perform with these great masters, and to experience is so intensely in such a small group, will give new impetus to their progress as musicians.”

Applications should be submitted between 1 July and 29 November 2019, with 25 applicants invited for a live audition.
