ISPA is now accepting applications for its Pitch New Works programme. The session forms an important part of the society’s congresses, with ten shows featured in each edition.
Successful applicants will get to pitch their latest creations and works-in-progress to ISPA delegates. After the pitch, delegates get to chime in with questions and offer testimonials.
“Past participants have secured additional project support, representation, touring opportunities, international exposure, and more,” said ISPA CEO David Baile in a statement. “We hope to hear from ten of the top new works across the globe.”
The most recent Pitch New Works session, which took play in Montréal in May, featured work by choreographer Crystal Pite; Opéra de Montréal’s Pink Floyd adaptation Another Brick in the Wall: L’Opéra; circus show Bosch Dreams; Jaberi Dance Theatre’s No Woman’s Land; and Neworld Theatre’s King Arthur’s Night.
“I’ve had the luck and privilege to present two projects in ISPA’s Pitch New Works programme,” commented Alison Friendman, director of Ping Pong Productions. “I cannot say enough positive things about the opportunities this programme creates.”
Interested groups can apply through ISPA’s online portal. The application process closes on 22 September, with successful applicants notified on 8 November.
ISPA’s next congress runs from 9-11 January, 2018, in New York City.
