How do you get to Symphony Street?

Mezzo-soprano Katherine Jenkins and her husband Andrew Levitas are launching a new music-themed children’s show. Symphony Street will be an animated programme aimed at four to eight-year-olds, featuring music from a variety of genres.

‘Music is the international language: it doesn’t see colour, race, class or creed, and the lessons learned through it are easily translated into everyday life,’ commented Jenkins. ‘It was with this in mind that my husband and I set out to create a fun and exciting musical platform to teach our own young daughter.’

The show will follow the adventures of a group of friends as they go on musical adventures, with Jenkins signed up to voice one of the characters. Splash Entertainment, whose founder Mike Young created the classic children’s show SuperTed, will produce the series.

Said Young: ‘Symphony Street is a fresh, funny and innovative series that will be designed for the media platforms they now frequent – it’s a win-win.’ Welsh channel S4C have expressed interest in taking the show to television.

Levitas has experience in cinema, having directed 2014 feature film Lullaby, and produced several other films. He is also a successful artist known for his photographic sculptures and paintings.
