Hong Kong Performing Arts Expo 2026 concludes with record participation and 2028 return announced

The second edition of the Hong Kong Performing Arts Expo (HKPAX 2026) attracted more than 2,000 artists, arts groups, presenters, industry professionals and students from 60 countries and regions across five continents. The five-day event, held from 9 to 13 October at venues across Hong Kong, recorded over 39,000 visitors and featured more than 40 international and local performances alongside over 40 networking and exchange events.

Organised by the Hong Kong Arts Development Council (HKADC) and sponsored by the Culture, Sports and Tourism Bureau of the HKSAR Government, HKPAX 2026 saw the signing of Memoranda of Understanding by Hong Kong arts groups Toolbox Percussion and TS Crew with international counterparts in Singapore and the United States, supporting future performance exchanges and cross-national collaboration.

The Hon Kenneth Fok, Chairman of HKADC, said: “HKPAX is not simply a marketplace, it has become a platform where ideas are exchanged, partnerships are forged and tangible outcomes are achieved, including new MoUs between Hong Kong arts organisations and international counterparts… The strong international participation and engagement we have witnessed this year reflect the growing significance of HKPAX within the global performing arts landscape.”

The Hong Kong Arts Development Council has announced that the third edition of HKPAX will take place in October 2028.
