HOME, a multidisciplinary art centre in Manchester, has announced a new artist support programme. The programme will offer seed funding, financial support and bespoke mentoring for artists, while also offering access to development space.
‘Made at HOME’ is designed to give artists the space to develop their practice, experiment with new ideas, and create new collaborations without the pressure of public presentation. Applicants seeking support in theatre, film, visual art or digital work have until 7 June to apply.
Dave Moutrey, artistic director and CEO of HOME, said: “We want to better serve the artistic ecology of the region and the country, and be a place where artists want to develop their practice and reach even more people. We’re therefore increasing our investment in commissions and talent development to provide genuine opportunities for artists to flourish. Made at HOME sits right at the heart of this commitment.”
There are two strands to the new project, offering different opportunities: Explore and Develop. Explore is designed to be the most flexible way of supporting an idea or project. This strand provides seed funding up to GBP500 (€580) alongside support from HOME’s talent development producing team.
Develop, meanwhile, allows artists to experiment further with an idea or project in a deeper way and offers up to GBP2,000. Each year HOME will commit to four Develop projects where the artist will have the chance to share and discuss the work with the HOME team while accessing a dedicated development space and bespoke mentoring.
