As a vibrant East-meets-West welcoming hub in the global performing arts community, the Hong Kong Performing Arts Expo (HKPAX) returns from 9 to 13 October 2026 for its second edition
Launched by the Hong Kong Arts Development Council, HKPAX is designed to connect artists, producers, presenters and agents from across continents. Its first edition in 2024 drew over 1,600 arts leaders and practitioners from 60 countries and regions and attracted more than 32,000 attendees and audiences across Hong Kong.
HKPAX 2026 will feature a thoughtfully curated programme spanning multiple strands, including International Showcases, Pitching Works, Hong Kong Chapter, Conversations, Exhibition, Networking Events and Expo Programmes, making it a catalyst for new partnerships and a gateway to the vibrant arts scene in Hong Kong, across China, Asia, and beyond.
In preparation for HKPAX 2026, the global open call for International Showcases and Pitching Works is officially underway. For artists and organisations, the International Showcases offer the chance to present full-length performances in dance, drama, music, xiqu (Chinese opera), and multidisciplinary arts, staged in Hong Kong’s leading venues before local and international audiences. Submissions may include ready-to-tour or newly created works (though works-in-progress are excluded). Selected applicants will receive technical and promotional support, plus a US$10,000 allowance for travel and accommodation expenses.
Pitching Works offers artists and groups another opportunity to present original projects at HKPAX, whether ready-to-tour, planned for a premiere within two years, or still in progress. Each selected project will be given a 15-minute slot, including a presentation and Q&A, with the opportunity to connect directly with presenters, producers, venues and agents. All participants in both International Showcases and Pitching Works will also receive complimentary exhibition space and two Full Passes, providing access to the entire HKPAX 2026 programme.
