Tbilisi International Festival of Theatre‘s (TIFT) seventh annual Georgian Showcase programme takes place 5-8 October, and the deadline for registration is approaching fast: interested parties should download, complete and return their forms by email no later than 15 July.
TIFT introduced the Georgian Showcase strand in 2009 as a core component of the main festival, offering contemporary Georgian theatre artists a prominent platform and seeking to help facilitate their integration with global performance networks. A wide range of international festival and theatre managers, critics, programmers, journalists, curators and artists attend the festival, generating new space for exchange and discussion. The showcase strand has led to many Georgian artists and companies securing overseas festival invites, with numerous exchanges and co-productions emerging as a result.
Registration for this year’s event costs USD56, and includes accommodation in Tbilisi, in-country travel, and access to all Georgian Showcase performances. The 2015 programme will be announced soon, but last year’s TIFT line-up is viewable at tbilisiinternational.com as a hint at what to expect. Would-be attendees should return completed announcement and registration forms to Georgian Showcase coordinator Tamar Laliashvili via show-case@tbilisiinternational.com.
