The George Enescu Competition will take place from 29 August – 20 September, with this year marking its 17th edition. The organisers have improved the selection mechanisms, have attracted new classical music personalities to the jury, and have involved more former laureates of the competition in the evaluation process than ever before.
The competition has also relaunched its website in order to offer improved accessibility and practical information to the contestants, as well as the most important news for fans.
The competition maintains its four sections (violin, cello, piano and composition). From 15 April young musicians can send their online applications via www.festivalenescu.ro together with short videos.
The George Enescu Competition is an international platform for launching great musicians of the future, as well as for promoting the compositions of the great Romanian musician to a new generation of artists. It is part of the George Enescu Festival, the most important cultural event organised by Romania.
