Philharmonie de Paris is running a concert at home programme as the COVID-19 lockdown continues. Archive concerts will be posted each night at 8:30pm and stay available for 24 hours.
“The content made available will reflect the rich diversity of our programming… featuring some of the world’s finest conductors, soloists, jazz, pop or electro musicians,” said an orchestra representative.
Highlights include a 2019 performance by Ensemble Intercontemporain conducted by Matthias Pintscher (12 April); a 2017 concert from Chamber Orchestra of Europe under the baton of Yannick Nézet-Séguin (14 April); and Britten’s War Requiem, performed by Orchestre de Paris and conductor Daniel Harding (15 April).
In addition, there are daily activities for children. These include children’s concerts, musical culture games, and talks from Musée de la musique.
Philharmonie de Paris has also created a virtual tour, which includes Musée de la musique and the Costumes en fête exhibition, featuring costumes from baroque ensemble Les Arts Florissants.
All this is on top of its usual Philharmonie Live platform, which has over 100 concerts available on demand.
