Eric Lu signs with Columbia Artists

Columbia Artists has signed Eric Lu for North American representation. The 20-year-old American pianist won the Leeds International Piano Competition in 2018.

As part of his Leeds win, Askonas Holt already represents Lu worldwide. Now, the two agencies will work together, with Lu covering his US and Canada engagements.

“I am very happy to announce joining Columbia Artists for North American Representation,” said Lu in a statement on his Facebook page. “I want to thank Antonio Orlando and Gaetan Le Divelec from Askonas Holt, as well as R Douglas Sheldon and Martin Wittenberg from Columbia, for making this exciting collaboration possible. I look forward to the musical journeys that lie ahead, and also want to thank everyone for their continuous support.”

Lu released his first album Beethoven: Piano Concerto No 4, Chopin: Piano Sonata No 2, Ballade No 4 on Warner Classics in November. The album is made up of the works that won him The Leeds.

Aside from that success, Lu won the 2015 Chopin International Competition in Warsaw aged just 17 and the US National Chopin Competition in 2017. He studies at the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia.
