Art Explora and Académie des beaux-arts have teamed up for a new innovation prize, with €150,000 set to be distributed.
The Art Explora – Académie des Beaux-arts European Award will reward projects that “amplify proactive, innovative or particularly remarkable actions carried out by cultural institutions engaging the broadest possible audience.”
In particular, the jury is looking for work across digital innovation, external activities, inclusion of people with disabilities, fighting against cultural exclusion, new mediations, cultural awakening for young audiences and programmes for excluded audiences.
Projects that are already underway are eligible, as well as new projects that will use the prize to start their activity. The organisers stated that “close attention will be played to projects making use of digital technology and controlling their environmental impact.”
First prize is €80,000, second is €50,000 and third is €20,000. The closing date for applications is 25 September.
The jury will consist of 12 members, half nominated by Art Explora and half from members of the Académie des beaux-arts. More information on how to apply can be found on the Art Explora website.
