Creative Europe gives Brexit advice

Creative Europe has issued new Brexit advice for UK organisations and their European partners.

In the event of a deal between the EU and the UK being reached, it says UK organisations can continue to apply for Creative Europe funding until December 2020. Funding will be honoured even if the projects run beyond 2020.

However, if there is no Brexit deal, the UK Government has, “provided reassurance that it will underwrite the payments of awards for the full duration of the project, where UK organisations successfully bid directly to the European Commission on a competitive basis.” This guarantee only covers UK organisations, and non-UK partner organisations will not be funded by the UK Government.

A full run down of all clauses can be found on the Creative Europe website.

Further, the deadline for Creative Europe’s latest round of Cooperation Projects is approaching. Applications must be made by 11am (GMT) on 11 December. Two new priorities have been added to this year’s call:

  • Enhance intercultural dialogue, promote shared EU values and mutual understanding and respect for other cultures, thereby contributing to the social integration of migrants and refugees.
  • As a legacy to the European Year of Culture Heritage, raise awareness of common history and values, and reinforce a sense of belonging to a common European space.

The Cooperation Projects guidelines have also been updated with a Brexit clause for UK applicants.
