Hofesh Shechter Company (HSC) has announced Colette Hansford as the company’s new executive producer –she will take up her position from 1 July 2019.
Hansford is currently the administrative director at the company and has been working in the executive team at HSC for the last ten years. She will work alongside Israeli choreographer Hofesh Shechter on the creative and organisational development for the contemporary dance company.
Artistic director Shechter said, “Colette has an invaluable knowledge of the terrain in which we operate, coupled with the ability to create a kind and supportive and productive environment.”
Co-founding the company in 2008, Hansford has helped it expand worldwide, working on creative projects such as Olivier Award nominated Grand Finale, Political Mother: The Choreographer’s Cut and Orphée et Eurydice. Prior to her work at HSC, Hansford worked in programming, artistic development and venue management with ATG theatres before becoming administrative director of theatre and artist development at The Place.
HSC has also announced that the Esmée Fairbairn Foundation has awarded the company a grant of GBP120,000 (€139,000) for the next two years. This will further develop and expand the programming model for the company and help continue the expansion of audiences for dance touring.
