CMA seeks diverse voices

CMA seeks diverse voices for its 2025 National Conference in Houston

Chamber Music America (CMA) is calling for proposals for its 2025 National Conference (13-16 February in Houston, Texas). The organisation is encouraging its members to submit ideas for panel discussions and sessions that address pressing issues in the chamber music world, such as audience engagement, digital technology and equity, and best practices for fundraising, programming and marketing.

CMA is particularly interested in proposals that offer practical insights and actionable takeaways for the ensemble music community. The organisation is looking for sessions featuring multiple speakers with diverse perspectives, tackling timely topics that look ahead to 2025 and beyond. Proposals that highlight industry best practices and include speakers from Texas and the surrounding areas are also encouraged.

As part of its ongoing commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion, CMA will prioritise proposals that showcase a range of voices from different racial, gender and ability backgrounds. While solo lectures will be considered, the organisation prefers sessions with multiple speakers.

Selected speakers and panellists will receive a $300 honorarium to help cover expenses but will be responsible for their own travel and accommodations.

The deadline for submitting proposals is 16 July. Interested parties can find more information on the CMA website at chambermusicamerica.org/
