Intermusica has signed Tunisian-Canadian mezzo-soprano Rihab Chaieb for general management. This season, Chaieb makes her debut with the Bregenzer Festspiele in Ravel’s Scheherezade with the Wiener Symphoniker, conducted by Elim Chan. Further performances include Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 and Carmen in concert with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, conducted by Gustavo Dudamel.
IMG Artists has welcomed the three-time Grammy®-nominated American tenor Nicholas Phan to its roster for European management. Phan, whose repertoire spans nearly 500 years of music, co-founded the Collaborative Arts Institute of Chicago (CAIC) in 2010. He began this season curating and performing in CAIC’s 13th annual Collaborative Works Festival, “Song of the Bard”, which examines Shakespeare’s influence on the world of song. Other season highlights include his debut with the Gulbenkian Orchestra in Lisbon and performing the world premieres of two new song cycles by Viet Cuong. He will be represented by Callan Coughlan from London.
Askonas Holt has signed Giovanni Sala for worldwide management. This season, the Italian tenor returns to the Bayerische Staatsoper to sing Tamino in Die Zauberflöte, Macduff in Macbeth and Don Ottavio in a new production of Don Giovanni conducted by Vladimir Jurowski. He also sings the title role in a new production of La Clemenza di Tito for his debut at Opéra de Monte-Carlo alongside Cecilia Bartoli who sings Sesto. On the concert stage, Sala is reunited with conductor Riccardo Muti for a tour of Verdi’s Requiem, performing at the Philharmonie de Paris with the Orchestre National de France and at Marian Anderson Hall with the Philadelphia Orchestra. He will be managed by Nicholas Moloney.
TACT Artists Management has signed the Norwegian tenor Bror Magnus Tødenes for general management. Tødenes’s career highlights include performances at the Opéra national de Paris as Hylas in Les Troyens, Den Norske Opera as Rinuccio in Gianni Schicchi and Rodolfo in La bohème, and at the Salzburg Festival, where he performed in Verdi’s Aida under the baton of Riccardo Muti. This season he will perform Ismaele in Nabucco at the Wiener Staatsoper and Macduff in Macbeth at both the Opéra de Lyon and Théâtre du Capitole de Toulouse
