The latest Classical Music Signings: Spotlight on conductors

  • Arabella Arts has signed renowned conductor, pianist and composer Lera Auerbach for general management. The multi-talented Auerbach, who has also received acclaim as an award-winning poet and exhibited visual artist, has a busy 2024-25 season partnering with the Royal Scottish National Orchestra and Stuttgart Philharmonic Orchestra, making her solo piano recital debut in Rome, and collaborating for the first time with the Southwest Florida Symphony Orchestra.
  • HarrisonParrott has welcomed conductor Samuel Lee for worldwide general management. Lee recently won the 2024 Malko Competition for Young Conductors and is currently Associate Conductor of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra. He is an avid promoter of contemporary music and has conducted several orchestral and ballet premieres by composers including Bryce Dessner, Giuseppe Gallo-Balma and Marc Migó.
  • Ukrainian conductor Yaroslav Shemet has joined Only Stage for management in Italy. This season the 28-year-old conductor, who is Artistic Director of the Silesian Philharmonic in Katowice and General Music Director of the Baltic Opera in Gdańsk, made his debut at the Polish National Opera conducting a new production of Mozart’s Così fan tutte. Future engagements include a debut with the National Polish Radio Symphony Orchestra at the Warsaw Autumn Festival and performances of new productions of Szymanowski’s Krȯl Roger, Bizet’s Carmen and Wagner’s Der fliegende Holländer at the Baltic Opera.
  • Jong-Jie Yin has joined HarrisonParrott for worldwide management. The 24-year-old Chinese conductor, who is quickly gaining international acclaim after winning the 11th Grzegorz Fitelberg International Competition for Conductors in 2023, was appointed Assistant Conductor of the China National Symphony Orchestra in September 2023. Yin’s 2024-25 season will include debuts at the Ludwig van Beethoven Easter Festival in Warsaw, and with the Arthur Rubinstein Philharmonic and Podlaska Opera and Orchestra.
