Classical Music Signings: Conductors June 2024

Bar Avni has joined IMG Artists for general management. Avni, who recently won the 2024 “La Maestra” conducting competition in Paris, became the first woman to hold the position of Chief Conductor of the Bayer Philharmoniker when she joined the orchestra in 2021. She will be represented by Artist Manager Isabelle Cottet, with Kathryn Enticott, Director of Enticott Music Management, consulting.

IMG Artists has welcomed conductor Giancarlo Guerrero to its roster for European management. Guerrero is currently in his 15th season as Music Director of the Nashville Symphony and frequently appears as a guest conductor, with return engagements next season with San Francisco Symphony, Seattle Symphony, Cincinnati Symphony and the Sarasota Orchestra. He will be represented by Senior Vice President Derek Chandruang.

Lü Jia has joined Only Stage for exclusive management in Europe. The Shanghai-born conductor is currently Artistic Director of Music for the National Centre for the Performing Arts (NCPA) and Music Director and Chief Conductor of the China NCPA Orchestra, positions he has held since 2017. He is also Music Director and Chief Conductor of the Macao Orchestra. He will be managed by Susanna Stefani Caetani.

Kirshbaum Associates has welcomed Marcelo Lehninger to its roster for worldwide representation. The Brazilian-born conductor has been the Music Director of the Grand Rapids Symphony  since 2016, a post he will hold until 2030, and he has recently become Artistic Director of the Bellingham Festival of Music.

Olivier Ochanine has joined Only Stage for general management. A native of Paris, Ochanine is the founding Music Director and Principal Conductor of the Sun Symphony Orchestra of Hanoi which is recognised as one of the leading orchestras in Southeast Asia. He will be represented by Susanna Stefani Caetani.

The Croatian conductor Miran Vaupotić has joined LocksBridge Artists Management for worldwide general management. A strong advocate for new music, Vaupotić has premiered many works, including Carlos Franzetti’s Clarinet Concerto, Roberto Di Marino’s Guitar Concerto, Primous Fountain’s Symphony No. 2 (commissioned by 28-time Grammy Award-winning American producer Quincy Jones), and most recently The Wild Symphony composed by New York Times bestselling author Dan Brown (The Da Vinci Code).
