Conductors

Finnish-French conductor Aliisa Neige Barrière has joined Maestro Arts for general management. As a rising conductor, she has distinguished herself by curating programmes that bring together music and dramaturgy, commissioning new works and highlighting underrepresented voices. Last season Barrière made her debut at the Paris Philharmonie and the Ojai Festival and is also Artist-in-Residence at Turku Music Festival.

Jessica Cottis has joined IMG Artists for general management. This season Cottis begins her second season as Artistic Partner of the Västerås Sinfonietta in Sweden and continues her fourth season as Chief Conductor and Artistic Director of the Canberra Symphony Orchestra. Season highlights include her highly anticipated debut with Turku Philharmonic Orchestra and collaborations with National Arts Centre Orchestra (Ottawa), Queensland Symphony Orchestra and Philharmonie Luxembourg, where she will premiere new works by Tonia Ko and Larry Goves. She will also perform with Basel Sinfonietta in a programme of contemporary works by female composers. Cottis will be represented by Thomas Walton and Alison Heather from the London office.

Primo Artists has expanded its representation of conductor James Gaffigan from North and South American management to exclusive worldwide management. Having joined the agency in April 2020, Gaffigan leads two leading European opera houses: Komische Oper Berlin and Palau de les Arts Reina Sofia, home to the Orquestra de la Comunitat Valenciana.

Polyarts has welcomed conductor Jonathan Taylor Rush for worldwide management. Rush is known for his commitment to performing works by living composers and has premiered works by James Lee III, Fernando Arroyo Lascurian and Carlos Simon, whose world premiere is featured on his latest Decca Classics release.
