Boston Symphony Orchestra invites audiences to #BSOatHome

Boston Symphony Orchestra has launched its #BSOatHome programme. Shared via social media, it is made up of, “great performances from the BSO archives, behind the scenes content, and videos from our musicians as they stay at home.”

First up is the ‘Listening’ strand, with a new programme uploaded at 10am every day. The first week includes pieces conducted by seven BSO music directors, with Andris Nelson the first showcased – performing Sibelius’ Symphony No 2.

In addition WCRB Classical Radio Boston will partner with BSO for ‘BSO Encores, Nightly’. Each night will consist of a BSO concert recorded in the last six years, and runs until Saturday 28 March.

Meanwhile ‘Behind the Scenes’ features videos from previously released BSO productions, including BSO360 and Tanglewood Tales, “that take viewers on a behind the scenes adventure of the BSO’s activities in Boston and at Tanglewood.”

Finally, BSO’s musicians will also play their part, recording videos while in isolation at home.

The full rundown of events is available via the BSO website.
