Avant Première 2024

The Epicentre of Cultural TV and VOD Content

Every year in mid-February, Berlin rolls out its red carpets and transforms into the capital of media and film. A significant contributor to the city’s cinematic fervour is Avant Première, the international trade fair, marketplace, conference and networking event for music and dance films.

Avant Première combines a comprehensive screening and conference programme with valuable networking opportunities and industry insights. It offers pitching opportunities and one-on-one sessions with major decision-makers, along with celebrity appearances.

The Avant Première Screenings provide an exclusive preview of over 510 of the latest music and dance films. These include documentaries, artist portraits and live recordings. Major market players like ARTE, C Major, NHK – Japan Broadcasting Corporation, Naxos Audiovisual Division, and many others, present their productions to potential buyers, co-producers and financiers. The 2024 edition will feature a diverse range of participants, with over 60 companies from various parts of the world, including Latvia, Australia, Brazil and Japan.

One of the most anticipated programmes points each year are the Special Screenings. Taking place in the evening, they add a glamorous touch by inviting the stars of their productions and hosting a swanky reception afterwards. This year, visitors of Avant Première can expect to encounter stars such as the German tenor Jonas Kaufmann, Portugal’s celebrated Fado singer Gisela João, famed Swedish director Jonas Åkerlund and many more.

What sets Avant Première apart is not just its commitment to showcasing content but also its dedication to cultivating an environment where creativity, commerce and technology intersect. Participants have the opportunity each year to engage in conferences, panels and one-on-one meetings with prominent innovators, buyers and movers and shakers of the industry.

Avant Première will take place from 17 to 21 February at Hotel Scandic Berlin Potsdamer Platz.
