The UK-based music agency Sound and Music and the British Council have opened applications for the British Council Travel Grant.
Open to British contemporary music composers, the scheme is designed to help professional musicians cover the costs of overseas performances.
The grant will provide up to GBP1,000 (€1,208) for the selected composers’ travel costs, but will not cover production or presentation expenses.
Applicants must be able to show that their presence at an overseas event will make a significant impact on their career.
A panel featuring professionals from the British Council, Sound and Music, and other new music organisations will assess the applications.
The scheme ties in with the British Council Music department’s commitment to promote British contemporary music abroad.
Applications are open online until noon on 13 January.
