Applications open for Joint Master’s in International Arts Management
The Master of Management in International Arts Management (MMIAM), a joint programme offered by Southern Methodist University (SMU) in Dallas and HEC Montréal, is now accepting applications for the 2026–27 cohort. This intensive one-year programme prepares students for leadership roles across the performing and visual arts, heritage sector, and other cultural industries, including film, publishing, radio and television.
Students will travel and study across five global cities – Dallas, Montréal, Bogotá, Beijing and Milan – immersing themselves in coursework, field projects, and behind-the-scenes tours of renowned cultural organisations. Additionally, participants meet international leaders in cultural management and gain practical experience in diverse cultural contexts. The curriculum focuses on four core skills: designing and implementing cultural projects, selling cultural products domestically and internationally, ensuring financial stability, and mastering management tools for arts organisations.
Graduates have a 100 per cent placement rate, with alumni working at institutions such as the National Gallery of London, Montréal Symphony, Texas Ballet Theater, Teatro Villa Mayor in Bogotá and Palexpo in Geneva.
Applications for the 2026–27 academic year are now open, with deadlines on 15 November 2025, 15 January 2026, 15 April 2026 and 1 June 2026 (US citizens). An online information session will be held on 6 November 2025.
