The 2025 AAPPAC Conference will take place in Daejeon, South Korea, known as the “City of Science”. Hosted by Daejeon Arts Center, this year’s theme, From Local Inspiration to Global Influence reflects Daejeon’s cultural identity and underscores the global impact and contributions of Korea’s performing arts scene
and theatres.
Over three days, the conference will explore key issues in the performing arts. Internationally acclaimed Korean conductor and cellist Han-Na Chang will deliver the keynote speech sharing insights from her illustrious career. Additionally, delegates will hear from a distinguished line-up of panellists and speakers from South Korea and beyond. Attendees will learn about the growth and successes of Korean culture, gain fresh perspectives on interdisciplinary co-operation between art and science, and explore how global cohesion can be fostered through the performing arts.
Beyond the discussions, AAPPAC’s annual Connecting Series will feature selected pitch presentations of leading and cutting-edge works from the region. Delegates will also get an inside look into leading arts centres in South Korea with venue tours of Daejeon’s cultural landmarks, LG Arts Center SEOUL, and Seoul Arts Center.
