Statement from CINARS on 2020 biennale

CINARS is due to take place this November. As of right now the event is still going ahead, but the organisers have amended some programmes and released the following statement:

“The situation regarding COVID-19 is evolving rapidly. We know that these are difficult times for all performing arts professionals and we assure you of our full support. But it is also important that all our collaborators, our partners, our team, the artists, the agents and the presenters are healthy.

In order to stop the spread of the virus and in accordance with government recommendations, we are taking the decision to suspend all our joint attendances “Québec On stage” / “Canada On Stage” abroad until the situation improves significantly, ensuring that we can travel again in complete safety.

The CINARS team will be working from home for the next few weeks. We remain entirely reachable by email.

Our two current calls for applications (My First Biennale and the Project Presentation) are maintained. Nevertheless, the deadlines for applications may be extended according to the evolution of the situation.

The CINARS training seminar organised by the Conseil Québecois de la Musique scheduled for March 24-27 in Montreal is postponed to a later date. We invite all those who have already registered to contact the CQM directly for more information.

Our priority is everyone’s health. We invite you all to stay home as much as possible and take all the appropriate security measures.

The CINARS team”
