West One Entertainment has announced the first festival date for its film Isabel. Starring Iain Glen (Game of Thrones) and Claire Skinner (Outnumbered), it’s the latest production from the award-winning London-based company.
Founded in 2012, to date West One Entertainment has received 16 major award nominations, picking up nine prizes at Edinburgh International Film Festival, London Film Festival and LA International.
Isabel tells the story of an estranged couple that are brought back together for their daughter’s wedding, only for old wounds to be reopened. It is written and directed by Matthew Murdoch.
“Since it’s shot entirely in one hotel suite, in the fleeting moment before their daughter walks down the aisle, it was essential to depict a relationship that was uncomfortably honest and achingly true,” said Murdoch. “The story explores the nature of love, its sense of fidelity and betrayal and the lingering feeling that remains long after the fact.”
The film has been selected for the St Louis International Film Festival, with more dates to be confirmed soon.
