Send in your songs for Neuss Organ/Song competition

Neuss Organ/Song competition is now open for applications. It is the competition’s third instalment, and runs from 5-8 September as part of the Neuss Church Music Week.

First place takes home €3,000, second wins €1,500 and third receives €1,000. Winners will give recitals as part of the next Church Music Week in 2018.

This year’s jury is made up of organist and conductor Joachim Neugart, Neuss Church choir leader Katja Ulges-Stein, professor Michael Krämer, singer and conductor Gotthold Schwarz and professor Stefan Palm. Pieces will be judged on technical and musical skill, creativity in programme design, and the artistic individuality of the participants.

The competition is open to singers and organists of any nationality aged 30 or below. Applicants older than 30 will be accepted provided they are registered students at a college of music. The deadline for applications is 30 June.
