Opera North brings box office back in-house

Opera North has announced it is bringing its box office management system in-house, after years of outsourcing to Leeds Grand Theatre. Box office specialists Spektrix have overseen the move.

The new system will allow Opera North to access better customer information and, as a result, increase revenues and boost fundraising efforts. The cloud-based Spektrix system provides detailed customer intelligence in real time.

‘The impact of having our own box office is significant,’ commented Opera North director of external affairs David Collins. ‘[The new system] is allowing us to manage customer relationships directly and the insights gained from the reporting module are already re-shaping our marketing campaigns.

‘Not only were we introducing a new box office system, we were creating a box office team and function for the first time. The support, knowledge and expertise Spektrix provided was invaluable.’

Leeds-based Opera North is one of the UK’s leading opera companies, with performances of Strauss’ Der Rosenkavalier, Britten’s Billy Budd and Puccini’s Il tabarro & Suor Angelica scheduled for its autumn season.
