A new app will highlight the work of 14 contemporary dance companies and artists from Finland.
Available on iPads and Android tablets, Dance Finland is a free, English-language app aimed at promoting Finnish dance to international markets.
Companies featured on the app include Alpo Aaltokoski Company, Glims & Gloms and Tero Saarinen Company.
Entries for each company will include key information, image and video content, and links to relevant web and social media pages. The app also allows the user to search via genre, and includes information and articles on the Finnish dance landscape.

The app was launched by Dance Info Finland – an organisation aiming to promote and support dance in the country – and developed by Provisual.
Sanna Kangasluoma from Dance Info Finland told IAM: ‘We are very excited about this new tool. Rich media content is the best way to promote dance if you cannot get to see a live performance. It’s very valuable for dance companies whose main activity takes place in remote places like Finland.’
She continued: ‘Both Dance Info Finland and the dance companies themselves can benefit from the application when participating in international dance fairs, festivals or other events.’
Updates to the app, including new content and features will be added within the next three months.
Dance Finland is available to download through iTunes and the Google Play Store.
