Midem joins forces with Berklee College

Midem, the annual music conference which begins tomorrow, has partnered with Berklee College of Music’s Valencia campus for a third year.

Berklee is a world-leading college for the study of contemporary music. Its main campus is situated in Boston.

Through the partnership, all students on the Global Entertainment and Music Business masters programme (based in Spain) will attend Midem to learn more about the industry through talks and networking events.

Course director Emilien Moyon said: ‘Both Midem and Berklee share a pioneering approach to the future of the music and entertainment industry, Berklee through its commitment to preparing students to meet the artistic management and entrepreneurial challenges to succeed in this rapidly changing environment and Midem through its dedication to bringing the stakeholders and players together at the leading international b2b event for the new music eco-system.’

Members of the school’s faculty and alumni will also lead a number of workshops and courses as part of Midem’s Academy strand. Topics include: ‘It’s not all about “likes”; Effective B2B communications in a Direct-to-Fan economy’; ‘Listening like a producer’; and ‘International Marketing Strategy’.

Midem will take place from 1-4 February in Cannes, France.
