Khachaturian International Competition plans digital edition

The Khachaturian International Competition is the latest event to go digital. The competition, which takes place annually in Armenia, is running the 2020 edition online.

The competition will focus on the violin, with contestants submitting video performances for each of the competition’s three rounds. For the final, they will perform to a recording of the Armenian State Symphony Orchestra conducted by Sergey Smbatyan.

“Classical music lovers and musicians from all over the world will have a chance to witness a magnificent event this June,” said competition representative Astine Ohanyan. “In the face of the current pandemic and lockdown situation, the Khachaturian International Competition is transforming into a unique digital format.”

The Khachaturian International Online Competition will be held from 6-15 June, with the performances streamed on its website. Full details can be found via the rules section of the competition website.
