Creative Europe has put out a call for audio-visual producers looking for funding to develop work with cross-border cultural reach. Production companies based within the European Union are welcome to apply, with a maximum award of €60,000. Points are awarded based on European value, the quality of the proposed project, and the planned distribution of the final work. Applications can be made online at eacea.ec.europa.eu before the deadline of 21 April at noon. Applications from creative documentaries, animation and interactive multimedia projects are all welcome.

Creative New Zealand’s Toi Uru Kahikatea (arts development) and Toi Tōtara Haemata (arts leadership) schemes are now open for applications. The multi-year programmes support the development of arts organisations by providing funding over a fixed term. The Toi Uru Kahikatea fund is for arts organisations, while individual artists can apply for Toi Tōtara Haemata grants. Applications from theatre and multidisciplinary arts are particularly encouraged. More information is available at creativenz.govt.nz, the application process for both closes on 20 May and the funding cycle starts on 1 January 2017.

Violinist Ray Chen has launched a crowd funding campaign that aims to support unrecognised musical heroes. Musical Heroes will back individual musicians who educate and support young musicians where they live. Funding will be used to support and continue the good work already taking place in their respective communities. PRS for Music’s Momentum fund, which supports UK bands looking to take their career to the next level, is now accepting applications. Musicians must be at a tipping point in their careers, showing progression as artists and ready to make significant developments over the next two years (it is not a fund for bands just at the start of their careers). Recording, touring and marketing activities can all be supported by the fund. Grants are in the region of GBP5,000 – GBP15,000 (€6,490 – €19,474). Funding applications must be received by 17 May, decisions will be made within eight weeks. Applications can be made online at prsformusicfoundation.com.
