IMZ Academy to explore arts education

IMZ Academy will hold an online workshop next week focussed on music education. Taking place on 3 December, the session is titled The Complete Performer of the Future – Embracing Media Skills in Music Education and runs from 10:00-18:00 CET.

The workshop is aimed at helping teachers and education administrators adapt to the new digital norms created in 2020. Topics on the agenda include developing digital curricula strategies; best practice in digital courses; and staff training.

“Leading experts will explore how the music education of the future could integrate the media skills training into its syllabus to prepare students effectively for the challenges and opportunities presented by the digital world,” said the organisers in a statement.

Speakers include Diana Salazar, director of programmes at the Royal College of Music; Miranda Harmer, chair of the Student Network at the Association of European Conservatoires; and IMZ academy director Peter Maniura.

The workshop is supported by Association Européenne des Conservatoires and Music and Arts University of the City of Vienna.
