A new UK multi-arts venue has marked a significant milestone in its construction.
The team behind Manchester’s HOME attended the topping out ceremony, which took place in a rooftop ‘living room’ at the building’s highest point.
Due to open in spring 2015, the GBP25m (€30.2m) venue will present, produce and commission a programme of contemporary visual art, theatre and film.

HOME is part of a new 20-acre city centre development which is also set to include apartments, retail and leisure units, and a hotel. It’s expected the project will create 11,000 jobs.
Manchester City Council has committed GBP19m to the development, with Arts Council England providing an additional GBP5m.
Alison Clark-Jenkins, North and National Director, Combined Arts, Arts Council England, said: ‘This is a building which is full of ambition. Ambition for the city as an international leader; ambition for artists and arts organisations to work together in an exceptional venue and ambition for the people of the city who deserve work that will be exciting, challenging and life changing.’
